critically-acclaimed violinist...

Shlomy Dobrinsky

“Music has been a wonderful forum for self expression. I particularly enjoy the transformation of noise into a piece of emotion meaning.”

His Story

Violin playing was always present in Shlomy’s DNA

Shlomy’s great uncle, Mischa Dobrinsky, was already recording for Columbia records back in 1927. His other great uncle, Sasha Dobrinsky, was also a violinist that had his own klezmer band in Germany, before WW2. Shlomy’s dad is an accomplished violinist who studied at the Moscow Conservatoire and is a member of The Israel Philharmonic.

It is the juxtaposition of the ancestral styles that makes Shlomy the player he is today. His main inspiration is his teacher Irina Svetlova who taught him at Gnesin Music School in Moscow, and Yossi Zivoni, who was his Violin Professor at Royal College of Music, London.

I have successfully coached students to get to top music colleges. My recent student got in to Royal College of Music on a full scholharship, and a pupil I taught in Chipping Campden festival is now a member of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
